The car was exported to Venezuela on June 14, 1957, where it was delivered to the first owner, John Fairfield Jr., and registered with the license plate AMZ948, still preserved and provided with the vehicle. Subsequently, on September 30, 1987, the car was imported to Italy and cleared in Milan. After a careful restoration process lasting three years, it was registered in Brescia on September 30, 1990, becoming part of the collection of its only Italian owner, who has cherished it for 34 years, participating in the most prestigious vintage car events and gatherings. Certifications and historical authenticity 1990 – ASI Gold Plate Approval, the highest Italian certification for historically significant and original vehicles. 2002 – FIVA Identity Card, international recognition for proper preservation and authenticity. 2022 – British Motor Heritage Certificate, an official document issued by the British historical register confirming the correspondence between chassis numbers, engine, and original factory configuration. In 2017, the engine was completely restored at the renowned WAMA workshop in Brescia, specializing in high-value historic cars. Since then, it has covered less than 2,000 km. A detailed invoice is available listing the replaced parts and the work performed. Technical features The Aston Martin DB2/4 is powered by the classic 2,922 cc inline six-cylinder engine with VB6L/1 head, an evolution of the Lagonda engine designed by W.O. Bentley. In the “Saloon” configuration, it delivers about 140 hp, allowing the car to exceed 190 km/h, an exceptional performance for a grand tourer of the late 1950s. The four-speed manual transmission and chrome wire wheels complete a refined technical package, combined with surprising driving comfort for the time. The DB2/4 version represents a perfect balance between sportiness and luxury, anticipating the future British GTs that made the Aston Martin brand famous worldwide. Current conditions and use The car is preserved in excellent condition, perfectly efficient and insured, with a valid periodic inspection certificate. Its current owner reluctantly offers it for sale, only due to age limits, making way for a new custodian who wishes to participate in international events or the 1000 Miglia, for which the model is fully eligible. A specimen of great historical, mechanical, and collectible prestige, belonging to the last generation of handcrafted Aston Martins “pre-DB4”, rarely available on the market in such conditions and with complete and certified documentation.
