Luzzago has used this specimen with great involvement and passion, personally driving it in numerous national and international events, attesting to its exceptional reliability over long distances. HISTORY, FEATURES AND RARITY OF THE MODEL The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster, produced between 1964 and 1967, is considered one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Enzo Ferrari himself called it "the most beautiful car in the world". The 1965 specimen belongs to the most sought-after configuration of the Series 1, characterized by: the famous glass-covered headlights, a symbol of the early E-Types; the 4.2-liter XK engine, more elastic and reliable than the previous 3.8; the fully synchronized manual transmission, introduced with the 4.2 version; improved brakes and updated interiors for greater comfort. Production and rarity The Series 1 4.2 Roadster was built in relatively limited numbers: just over 9,500 total specimens today a reduced percentage is preserved in original and certified conditions the specimens with matching numbers and iconic original colors like Opalescent Silver Blue are particularly rare and highly sought after by international collectors. The presence of the ASI Gold Plate certification, which certifies the absolute conformity of the vehicle to the original specifications, further increases its historical and collectible value.
