MKIII Coupé 1967 for sale

A race car with an impressive track record in CER and at the Mans Classic, Ascott Collection is proud to offer for sale the LOLA T70 MK3 chassis SL73/110. In fact, this T70 Coupe is particularly well-known as it has been consistently at the top of historic racing for nearly 20 years with numerous overall victories in Classic Endurance Racing. A remarkable fact is that it won the Le Mans Classic three times in 2010, 2012, and 2016. In the hands of its new owner, it was among the stars at the Mans Classic 2022 and achieved further podiums in CER. Initially built as a Mk3 Spider, this LOLA T70 was sold new by Lola dealers Carl Haas and John Mecom to Homer J. Rader on March 15, 1967. In 1968, it entered its car driven by Lynn Kysar in the Can-Am race at Bridgehampton, but Kysar failed to qualify it. Kysar then drove the car for Rader in local SCCA events, achieving a victory at Clear Springs. Kysar then purchased the car and continued to race it in minor events before selling it in 1970. The T70 was then modified for road use by adding a large windshield with wipers. In 1972, it was sold to South Africa and finally returned to Great Britain in 1985. Owned by Nigel Hulme, it was fitted with a Mk3B coupe body. In 1987, Nick Amey acquired the car and regularly participated in historic races. In 1998, he installed the Mk3 Coupe body that the car still carries today. Claude Nahum purchased this LOLA in 2003 and entrusted it to Bernard Thuner, who won numerous races in Classic Endurance Racing and no less than three times the Le Mans Classic in 2010, 2012, and 2016. The current owner acquired this famous T70 in 2017 and entered it at Paul Ricard in 2018, finishing in 5th position in the overall standings. In 2020, its Historic Technical Passport was renewed and is valid until December 31, 2030. It was then entered in the Mans Classic 2022 where it was among the leaders and achieved a podium at the Castellet Ten Thousand Laps in August 2022. In 2025, it was once again among the front-running cars at the Spa Classic. Benefiting from an excellent level of maintenance and preparation, this LOLA T70 Coupe offers its next owner the chance to drive one of the most beautiful prototypes of the era and to stand on the podium of numerous historic races, including the Le Mans Classic.
