Aceca “The Missing USA Aceca” Trade in car 1963 for sale

Auto for trade. This is a 1963 AC Aceca. It has the chassis number: AEX796. Decoding the chassis number reveals that AE stands for the AC engine used (Bristol engines and even some Ford engines were also used). X stands for export followed by numbers denoting the production sequence. Only 151 AC Acecas were built. We acquired this car from the second owner who kept it for over 50 years. AC enthusiasts and journalists have often referred to this car as the "missing" USA AC Aceca. You might wonder how the car earned this title. The truth is actually quite simple: the previous owner had the car since 1967 and since the mid-80s it has mostly been stored in a garage. In 1976 the previous owner had the car completely restored by a mechanic friend. In 1963 the car was white, which was changed to "Light Sky Blue" during the restoration. Since the car had been stored in a garage for a long time, many fans thought the car had simply been lost. Nothing could be further from the truth. Despite being in storage for a long time, the previous owner took many preventive measures to ensure the car could withstand. He removed some fluids and until 2007 he regularly started the engine or turned it over to prevent the block from seizing. This probably helped us get the engine running again without too many issues. The engine runs but will still need a major service. Describing this car as a "barnfind" would be incorrect. It certainly needs some care and attention, but it has not been left to itself for decades. Thanks to the dry storage, the chassis is virtually rust-free. The body shows only minor signs of use. The sheet metal is nice and thin with correct shut lines. The Light Sky Blue paint has suffered more due to the long storage. Polishing alone will probably not be enough if you want a finish better than a "Barnfind". The interior has black leather upholstery with matching carpets that are still in good condition and have developed a nice patina. The Aceca has a 1991 cc inline six-cylinder engine, with three carburetors, producing 90 hp and is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. We believe that most likely the engine is still the same one fitted when it left the factory in 1963. This car is also in very authentic condition with the original 56 spoke wire wheels, seats, sun visors, wooden dashboard, and wheel nuts. Finally, the extensive file, old plates, and a considerable description of this special AC certainly deserve to be mentioned.
