The story
The Alfa Romeo 2000 was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1957 and was produced from 1958 in sedan and convertible versions. A coupe version appeared in 1960. The 2000 succeeded the Alfa 1900 produced from 1950 to 1959. The sedans and convertibles were designed by Touring, to which Alfa had long been faithful. The coupes were designed by Bertone and called Sprint coupe, as per tradition in Alfa Romeo. The production of the 2000 was 2800 sedans, 3400 Spider and 704 Sprint, the most sought-after version. Although production stopped in 1962, the Alfa 2000 was still built until 1969 by the Brazilian company F.N.M.
