The story
Osso di Sepia. This is the name given to the first generation of the Alfa Romeo Spider, the successor to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider, due to its concave-shaped side, created by Pininfarina, which resembled the inner shell of this invertebrate. Alfa Romeo designed a huge advertising campaign to promote its new Spider, with various media presentations, a week of test drives for the specialized press along the roads of Lake Garda, and even organized a cruise from Genoa to Cannes that included the drawing of three units along the way. Although the best advertisement for the small Italian roadster came in 1967 thanks to Dustin Hoffman and his appearance in the award-winning The Graduate. The qualities of the new two-seater Italian with front engine and rear-wheel drive enchanted enthusiasts. Even the entry-level version, the 1300 Junior, which corresponds to our unit, offered exceptional performance, with its 89hp of power effortlessly moving its meager 1000 kilograms of weight. Our unit has not only been restored in every part, but also features improved and reliable mechanics, offering an immediate response to the accelerator thanks to its oversized Webber carburetors. Its interior, finished in an appealing dark blue color, matching the hood and seat cover, contrasts perfectly with the silver color of the bodywork. And the spoke wheels are the cherry on top of such an exclusive cake. If you feel the need to experience what it’s like behind the wheel of an Alfa Romeo, don’t miss the chance to try our unit. We are sure it will steal your Heart. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.
