The story

ALVIS TF21 3.0 LITERS DHC 1967 ALVIS TF21 DHC 1967 Chassis 27428 Livery: Dark Blue 18 examples in the world Last ALVIS built Historic and invoices since 1966 Exceptional dossier This car is one of the rare ALVIS TF21 still in circulation among the 18 examples built. A rare model that fits into the continuity of the TE21 introducing a certain modernity. Presented in 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show, it will be produced for only 1 year. Alvis wanted to offer its wealthy clientele a model that could be used daily that combined performance, safety, and comfort. All in a chic universe as the English know how to do so well. As for the engine, it is equipped with a powerful 6-cylinder 3l that develops 150hp, fed by 3 SU carburetors. It has a ZF five-speed gearbox, assisted disc brakes, ball circuit steering, and independent front suspension with coil springs. A coupe version and a convertible version were produced. The latter in only 18 examples, of which this one. A car with an exceptional history: we have the list of all its owners, all repair invoices since 1967, all original booklets and advertisements, and the complete detail of its restoration. It was delivered first hand in 1967, to the Director of the company Industrial Rentals Ltd in London. There will be 7 English owners! The car left Great Britain only from 2002 to go on display at the Circuit of Angoulême. It will truly begin its French life only from 2015, after a brief passage in Switzerland. Today it is owned by a gentleman driver from the Côte d'Azur. This 2-door, 4-seater convertible is the work of the Swiss coachbuilder Graber (body number 9614). The bodywork was completely disassembled, sandblasted, and repainted in the 1990s. The chassis was restored in the 2000s. The alignments are perfect, the paint is shiny. The chrome is original and in excellent condition. The upholstery was redone in the 1980s. To date, it shows standard wear defects, being almost 50 years old! The carpets are in good condition. The hood is almost new and was changed in 2011. The instrumentation is functional. The electrical system was revised in the early 1990s. As for the mechanics, numerous elements have been restored, improved, and some modernized. - machined cylinder block - refurbishment of the original pistons and new sleeves - installation of more modern bearings - custom-made camshaft refurbishment capable of operating with a higher compression ratio - installation of sleeves with original bore of 83 mm - installation of modern steel valves, valve seats for unleaded gasoline, bronze valve guides - checking rocker arm angles - replacement of all steel bolts V155 The entire suspension system has been overhauled with the replacement of all brass bushings with bearings, disassembly and sandblasting of the springs, and replacement of the shock absorbers. The original ZF gearbox has been opened and restored. The clutch has been replaced. Finally, the power steering system is the original, completely restored. Currently, the car is maintained in a workshop specialized in English collectible cars. Such a model is rare on the market, almost non-existent! With only 18 examples we are talking about a micro production… With an extraordinary historical dossier. Visible by appointment only. Collection gray card.
