The concept presented is radically opposed to its competitors of the time: the VOLKSWAGEN Beetle, the FIAT 500 and the RENAULT Dauphine, all three equipped with a rear engine. To respond to a market demand for more space and a vehicle with a more chic and bourgeois style, BMC presents the Mini Countryman in 1960 at the Earls Court motor show in London. It stands out from the rest of the range for its utilitarian and family side by adopting an elongated body, an increased wheelbase, and a rear hatch that opens in two parts. To complete the picture, it features a wood side trim inspired by British and American "woodies". Under the hood, the Mini Countryman takes the well-known mechanics of the classic Mini, a small transverse four-cylinder. The evolution of regulations and new market expectations lead to the gradual cessation of wooden versions, the Mini Countryman bids farewell in 1969 leaving a lasting mark in memory. Body / Exterior: The model presented here is a September 1967 AUSTIN Mini Countryman in its period "Almond Green" color. It is now in good presentation condition, showing a uniform tone and a nice shine. After a professional polishing performed with orbitals from our workshop, we noticed defects under the paint on the tops of the front wings and on the bottom of the passenger door. We also noticed a corrected scratch on the right front wing. The chrome bumpers are in good condition, we noted a small dent on the right front and rear bumper. The chrome mirrors are in good condition, the driver's mirror has a small dent. The colored roof "White" is in good condition. The wood trims were replaced in 2024 (Invoice €1,000). The 4 original 10' steel wheels and their chrome hubcaps are in good condition. The 4 tires will be replaced new upon delivery. This specimen has retained its original spare wheel and jack. Among the interesting Body / Exterior equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: The wood trims replaced in 2024 and the 4 new tires. Interior: The interior is in excellent presentation condition. The upholstery in synthetic leather "Green / piping Grey" is in good original condition. We noticed small tears on the driver's seat. The wooden dashboard is in good presentation condition. The entire original instrument panel is fully functional. The vintage radio is not working but has been preserved for aesthetic reasons. This specimen is equipped with its original 2-spoke bakelite steering wheel. The wooden gear knob has a uniform patina of use. The "Green" carpets are in good condition, with no major signs of wear or discoloration. This specimen is equipped with front seat belts. Among the interesting "Interior" equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: The wooden dashboard, recent "Green" carpets, and front seat belts. Chassis: The lift confirms a healthy body, with no visible signs of accidents or apparent structural corrosion. The fundamentals: body floor, floors, wing bottoms, wheel arches, and chassis rails are in good condition. The front half floors were replaced in 2023.
