The story
Unlike the existing M5 at the time and the subsequent M3s, the E30 M3 had a four-cylinder inline engine. A 3.5-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 24 valves from the M5 E28 was tested in the prototype. However, its mass caused a disadvantageous road behavior. BMW found it easier to build a powerful four-cylinder engine rather than a lighter six-cylinder engine. In the end, they arrived at an engine from the E28 M5, reduced to four cylinders and thus with a displacement of 2302 cc. This provided in the classic model 200 hp and 240 Nm of torque, for a top speed of 235 km/h and 6.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. The M3 E30 was very different from the normal 3 Series. Apart from the hood, the entire bodywork was different. It had a more aerodynamic shape and wider tires and wheels. The M3 presented here is one of the BMWs delivered in France. It is a stunning M3 that drives fantastic and looks like new. There are French invoices and some German ones. Finally, there are some Dutch documents and the manuals. A nice black M3 with fabric interiors. I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful this car is, like new. A stunning M3 for the discerning collector.
