The story
No one other than "The King" Elvis Presley sat behind the wheel of this golden Cadillac. On December 28, 1967, the musical icon traded his '66 Olds Tornado at the "Madison Cadillac" dealership in Memphis for this '68 golden Cadillac Eldorado. The remaining purchase amount was exactly $8,836.83. Elvis used the car for almost a year as his daily driver, until one morning the Cadillac wouldn't start. At that point, he pulled out a gun and shot the car in the right fender. Fortunately, the shot was not "fatal" to the vehicle. So Elvis gifted the car to his father-in-law Col Beaulieu, also because, with the birth of his daughter Lisa-Marie in February 1968, he had other things on his mind. After his father-in-law's death, the car passed to an Australian businessman, who displayed it for many years in a "Planet Hollywood" restaurant in Australia. In 2000, the car was brought back to America by an American collector and Elvis fan and displayed in a showroom in Kansas City. Since 2015, the Cadillac has enriched the ChromeCars collection.
