The story
The 1969 Camaro COPO is considered the holy grail among Muscle Cars. The acronym COPO stands for: "Central Office Production Order" and means that it is a Camaro powered with Big Block power. The COPO could not be purchased from just any dealer - only a handful of selected dealers had the opportunity to order and deliver a Camaro of this type. Three different variants could be ordered: #9560 and #9561 were nearly identical vehicles, #9561 had a cast iron engine block. The third variant, #9737, was marketed under the name "Sports Car Conversion". Thanks to the 427 engine and its incredible power, most COPOs were used for drag racing or from stoplight to stoplight. The vehicle offered here is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Copo Tribute. The vehicle has been built with great care in the United States for several years and has since traveled less than 400 miles. It is equipped with the rare V8 L72 427 with 435 hp. A lot of money has been invested in the vehicle: the last owner alone spent over $100,000 on the Camaro.
