The basic idea of this motorized quadricycle project is summed up by a famous saying of its creator: 4 chairs under an umbrella. The specifications are drastic: an economical car, easy to drive, capable of carrying 2 people and 50 kg of potatoes at 60 km/h for 3 liters every 100. Moreover, this vehicle must be able to pass through the worst paths in impeccable comfort because the baskets of eggs transported in the back must arrive intact. There is no fuel gauge, but a graduated stick that must be dipped into the tank; there are also no turn signals because you have to stick your arm out of the window, hence the half-raising front windows. The technical solutions developed by CITROEN engineers will therefore be simple, economical, and effective, and will forge the revolutionary image of the brand. The success of the 2CV will be such that the first customers will have to wait up to three years between signing the order and the delivery of the vehicle. Produced for 43 years, the 2CV will be continuously improved and will see its power increase from 375 to 602 cm3. Bodywork / Exterior: The model presented here is a CITROEN 2CV type AZ from July 1958 in its "Light Gray AC 132" vintage color. The bodywork was restored a few years ago and the shell received a complete new paint job on this occasion. It is now in excellent presentation condition, showing a uniform shade and excellent brightness. After a professional polishing carried out with orbitals by our workshop, we noticed a small corrected paint chip on the top of the passenger side hood. The engine hood has a small deformation on the driver's side. We noticed the absence of the double chevron motif. All door seals are in excellent condition. The front and rear bumpers are perfectly aligned and in good condition. We noticed a small scratch on the right front bumper (1 cm). The long gray fabric hood is in good presentation condition despite some small stains. The 2 MARCHAL front optics are in excellent condition. The 4 "Ivory" steel wheels are in perfect condition. The 2 front MICHELIN tires show less than 50% wear. The rear tires will be replaced with new ones upon delivery. This specimen is not equipped with a spare wheel. Among the interesting Bodywork / Exterior equipment and options present on this model, we noted: MARCHAL 630 headlights and front fenders. Interior: The interior has been recently restored. The bayadère fabric upholstery in "Blue" is in excellent condition, both front and rear. The gray imitation leather door panels are in good condition. We noticed a difference in shade between the front and rear. The right rear door panel has a small tear. The dashboard shows no signs of scratches or paint defects. The original JAEGER speedometer is perfectly functional despite slight cloudiness. The sun visors show signs of use. The original 2-spoke steering wheel in "Light gray" is in excellent condition. The original Bakelite gear knob shows signs of use. The PVC floor mats are in good condition. Among the interesting Interior equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: the recent bayadère fabric upholstery in "Blue" and the JAEGER ammeter. Chassis: The fundamentals: boxed frame, body floor, floors, wheel arches, and longitudinal beams are in good condition. Usage reserve: as a principle, we cannot guarantee the perfection of the alignments beyond their good visual and functional state validated during the road test.
