A motorsport enthusiast, Argentine Alejandro De Tomaso founded his automotive company in 1959 near Modena. Recognition came with the Pantera, whose design is attributed to Giugiaro (like that of the Mangusta). Unveiled in 1970 at the New York Auto Show, it has the Chevrolet Corvette as its main competitor. Equipped with a steel monocoque chassis on which rests a 5.8-liter Ford V8 Cleveland engine that develops 310 hp, the Italian can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. Its main strength is its unbeatable value for money compared to the competition, and Alejandro DeTomaso strikes a deal negotiating its distribution in the United States (its main market) through the Lincoln Mercury network. During the first year, 1,007 units are sold, a very significant number for the company! This Pantera is the 160th built, delivered new in France by the Franco-British garage, and has had only four owners. The last of them, a Ferrari dealer, took care of the car meticulously and restored it between 2010 and 2015. The Push Button version is recognizable by its door handles that differ from other Panteras and represents the very first produced (382 push button produced) before the line evolved. This De Tomaso will be completely overhauled for sale. Some details will be restored to compliance such as the rear lights, the internal dome light button, and 4 new tires will also be fitted.
