The story

Model history: Ferrari presents the 275 GTS Spider at the Paris Motor Show in 1964, alongside the 275 GTB, marking the return of an open model after almost two years of absence, following the cessation of production of the 250 GT California in early 1963. Pininfarina designs the body of the Berlinetta, then Scaglietti produces it in Modena. The Pininfarina plant in Turin produces that of the Spider, then delivers it finished to Maranello for the installation of the mechanical components. The 275 GTS shows softer and more classic lines compared to its Berlinetta cousin, almost a racing car for the road. The GTB/GTS chassis are the same with a shortened wheelbase of 2400 mm. The engines are also identical, a V12 with a single overhead camshaft per bank for a displacement of 3,286 cc, equipped with three Weber carburetors and two distributors, to develop on the GTS a power of 260 hp, which is 20 hp and 600 rpm less than that of the Berlinetta, due to less aggressive tuning. The 5-speed gearbox and the coupled rear end are also the same but with a longer rear axle ratio that offers greater flexibility and a more pleasant cruising speed. The 275 GTS Spider is the brand's first convertible with a short wheelbase and independent suspension on all four wheels. Ferrari produced only 200 examples of the 275 GTS! History of this Ferrari 275 GTS: Of the 200 Ferrari 275 GTS built, chassis 06819 is the 10th example produced. It was initially finished in a rare combination of Nero (18.292) and Nuvola interior (VM 3015). Sold new in Italy, it was purchased by Mrs. Dino Fabbri, wife of a Milanese publisher. Historian Marcel Massini confirms this information. In 1968, the car returns from the original dealer, M.G. Crepaldi S.a.S., in Milan, before being sold to its second owner, Cesare de Lucchi, near Milan. The de Lucchi family keeps the car for over 30 years. They restore it in 1990 and 1991 at Scapini and Bruttomesso in Varese. Mr. de Lucchi drives it to the 50th anniversary celebrations of Ferrari in 1997. The interior is then refurbished by Luppi in Modena in 2002. After Mr. de Lucchi's death, the car remains in the family and returns to his son Vittorio. The De Lucchi family finally parts with the car in 2007, selling it in London. Shortly after its arrival in the UK, GTO Engineering carries out a meticulous restoration. Resold in 2008 to a new owner in France, it then shows only 35,000 original kilometers. In 2010, the cylinder heads are modified for unleaded gasoline for €13,500. In 2015, it changes owners but remains in France, where it is driven and cherished by its current custodian, now totaling 55,800 kilometers. The car also receives Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming its original engine and a gearbox compliant with the model. It is accompanied by its tool kit, its owner's manual, and its Classiche certification in its name. Body: It has an excellent body, very sound with great door and hood alignments. The paint is in superb condition with great shine. Upholstery: Its Nuvola leather upholstery (sky blue) is in excellent condition. The carpets are immaculate as are the door panels and the hood. It has a magnificent period wooden steering wheel. Engine: Very sound mechanics, overhauled at great expense in 2010, engine regularly maintained with excellent oil pressure. Gearbox: Fully synchronized 5-speed gearbox, excellent working condition. No play, gears engage perfectly. Rolling trains: The front axle, suspension, and rear axle are stable, excellent road holding. No play or noises detected. Braking behavior: The Ferrari 275 GTS has 4 disc brakes and provides perfect braking. + info: It has its Classiche Selling price: €1,650,000
