The story
The Ferrari BB (Berlinetta Boxer) was born in the wake of successes in Formula 1, to replace the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The BB family fully embodies the mood of the Seventies, as they are children of their time: new in terms of technology and design, aggressive, sporty. Despite the name, the engine is not a true boxer, but a V engine with the banks arranged at 180° since the connecting rods are mounted in pairs on the same support, a solution that allows lowering the center of gravity of the vehicle. This construction solution is typical of V engines, while boxers use a support for each connecting rod, as in inline engines. The second generation of the BB was born in '76 when they had to replace the 365 GT/4 BB due to anti-pollution regulations: thus they presented the 512 BB (Carburetors) which, in addition to having reduced emissions, boasted better driving fluidity compared to the previous one. The 512 BB remained in production until 1981 for a total of only 929 units. This proposed 512 BB Carburetors is one of the last produced and is in excellent aesthetic and mechanical condition.
