Behind the overpowering overall winner Alfa Romeo 8C, three Cisitalia and four Fiat 1100 S placed from second to eighth. They were light, robust, agile, and born from the moment of urgency. Our Fiat 1100 S is already the modified model for the subsequent Mille Miglia races, in which it participated in 1950 and 2008. In addition to the extensive technical changes led by the legendary Ing. Dante Giacosa and his team, the Berlinetta received for the first time an aluminum body. Fiat Carrozzerie Speciali was the magic word. Today this Fiat 1100 S is extremely rare - with an aluminum body only 20 units were built - each differed in details. This specimen underwent a detailed road test in 1997 in the Italian "Ruoteclassiche". Furthermore, there is a dossier on this car also in "Ruoteclassiche". The Fiat was first registered on November 5, 1948, and had about 10 ownership changes until 1961. Subsequently, its trail was lost in the hall of a Turin coachbuilder.
