Ford Galaxy Skyline Streetrod 1961 for sale

The construction of the Ford Galaxy Skyline lasted two years, from 1961 to 1963, and was personally built by "Mr. Custom" Joe Mureno. In the two years following its completion, the car won all the major American automotive awards. Mureno incorporated many stylistic elements from the custom car gurus of the '50s and '60s into the construction of the Moon Glow, and the leading names of that era contributed to the car's build. *Joe Bailon:* Inventor of the "Candy Apple Paint" and "Tube Grilles". The Tube-Grille design was applied both at the front and the rear. *Eddie Martinez:* Popularized the "Tuck and Roll" seat upholstery. The pearl interior of the Moon Glow was entirely in Eddie's hands. But not just the seats and the headliner, even the floor was done in "Tuck and Roll" style. He didn't stop at the exterior either: the entire roof and the wheel wells were also done by Eddie. All the stitching was done in gold and purple. The "COOL and BOLD" variant was chosen by Martinez. *Gene Winfield:* The master of design and painting for custom cars – particularly the pearl effect. Winfield created the pearl for the paint, which makes the Moon Glow shine to this day. *Bob Hirohata:* Bob is the father and inventor of the Hirohata "Dash Knobs", which were installed in a teardrop shape in the Moon Glow.
