The story

The Mustang has been a great success from the very beginning. The vehicle was aimed at a young, sporty audience and could be purchased starting at $2,368 (in current purchasing power and adjusted for inflation, this corresponds to about $21,000[4]). On the evening of the official sale, April 17, 1964, approximately 22,000 vehicles had already been sold. By the end of the first (albeit very long) year of production, 680,992 units had been sold. This was a record in the United States. It was clear that a market gap was being filled that had not been anticipated. Ford optimistically expected that 240,000 units would be sold. Neither the Chevrolet Corvair Monza, which was conceptually similar and built since 1960, nor the Plymouth Barracuda, which appeared shortly before the Mustang, were minimally successful. This Mustang 260 presented here has been fully restored, including the engine and manual transmission. Additionally, the front brakes have been replaced with the much better Wilwood disc brakes. A Borgeson power steering has also been installed. Invoices are available for viewing. The body has been completely sanded and painted in the original color. A new convertible top that fits very well has also been installed. There is a three-speed manual transmission that beautifully transmits the power of the 4.3 L engine to the rear wheels. It is a joy to drive this perfectly restored car. The sound of the V8 engine matches perfectly. If you wish to sell your vintage or classic car, Metropole Sales can purchase it or take it on consignment. Consignment relieves you of the burden of the selling process. Additionally, your car will be presented both online and in the showroom to a national and international audience of enthusiasts. Inquire about the possibilities.
