A stunning success with 22,000 units sold already on the first day. Young baby boomers of driving age flock to this eye-catching car, much more fashionable than the huge post-war Cadillacs that crowd the streets. The recipe for success is simple: a base and mechanical components derived from the mass production, all dressed with a body with sportier and more modern lines, with an endless list of options, allowing everyone to make their Mustang unique. It will be one of Ford's greatest commercial successes since the famous T, and the Mustang will be sold all the way to Europe. Body / Exterior: The model presented here is a January 1966 Mustang convertible in its period "Metallic Blue" color. The overall condition is excellent. The body received a complete paint job in 2012. It has excellent brightness and depth. After a professional polishing performed with an orbit from our workshop, we noticed a small paint chip in the center of the hood and a small scratch at the left front end. The chrome bumpers are perfectly aligned and in excellent condition, with no signs of dents or oxidation. We found a slight scratch on the rear bumper and on the body trim on the driver's side. The grille shows no signs of oxidation or deformation. The electric PVC hood in "Black" is in good condition despite a small tear on the left side. The rear window glass appears slightly cloudy but has no cracks or breaks. The operation of the electric hood and its sealing is in accordance with the original. The vinyl hood cover in "Blue" is in new condition. The 4 original 14’’ steel wheels are equipped with their original stainless steel MUSTANG hubcaps. The overall condition is excellent. The 4 whitewall tires show 10% wear on the front and 50% on the rear. This specimen has also retained its original spare wheel and jack. Among the interesting Body / Exterior options and equipment that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: the "Blue" hood cover and the electric PVC hood in "Black". Interior: The blue vinyl interior has maintained its original configuration: benches, seats, and door panels are in good condition. The dashboard is in perfect condition, with no scratches or cracks on the cover. The matching door panels are in excellent condition. The rear side seals show some small scratches. The instrument cluster is perfectly functional. As often happens with this model, the original ventilation/heating block is no longer functional.
