The story
Biarritz Sports And Classic Cars (BSCC) is pleased to present this Gimson Skipper Trial 49cc. The Gimson Skipper Trial is a trial-type motorcycle produced by Gimson, a Catalan brand active mainly from the 1950s to the 1980s. Gimson, an acronym for Gimbernat i Sons S.A, was known for its small motorcycles and mopeds, very popular in Spain. The Gimson Skipper Trial was intended for trial initiation, a technical off-road motorcycle discipline focused on balance and precision. Its lightweight and modest engine made it an ideal machine for beginners or young riders. Regarding its heritage, the Gimson Skipper Trial is today a symbol of the small Spanish trial motorcycles of the 70s. It is part of the golden age of many Iberian brands like Bultaco, Montesa, or Ossa, which dominated the global trial scene at that time. It is powered by a 49cc 2-stroke single-cylinder engine coupled with a 4-speed gearbox. This rare example from 1971 is in its original glitter orange livery, making it almost unique. The motorcycle is registered and ready to ride.
