The story

This Jaguar E-Type Series II is a classic Open Two Seater (Roadster), equipped with the proven 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a four-speed manual transmission. According to the Jaguar Heritage certificate, the vehicle was produced on May 18, 1970, and originally delivered to the United States. The original color combination was "Light Blue" with black interiors and a black soft top. The car was imported to the United States in Germany in early 2006 and subsequently carefully restored by the well-known classic car specialist Jobst Schriewer. Since then, the car has had only one owner. During this restoration, the body was professionally repaired, the technology was completely overhauled, and the interiors were meticulously renewed. Particular attention was paid to quality and achieving the most authentic realization possible. Additionally, the E-Type received some sensible technical optimizations, including an aluminum radiator, a dual Weber carburetor system, a Tripmaster, and a classic Becker Mexiko radio. A complete repainting completed the work. During its ownership, the Jaguar was regularly used and not only maintained but also actively driven. The car successfully participated in several classic car rallies, which impressively underscores its reliability and driving pleasure. Maintenance and care have been continuously carried out by the specialized workshop for classic Jaguars, Jag-Tec Classic Cars & More in Osnabrück. In 2025, a completely overhauled original four-speed transmission was installed, further improving the technical condition. Today, this E-Type presents itself in a truly very attractive overall condition - both aesthetically and technically. The Jaguar E-Type was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961 and was considered a sensation. Both Malcom Sayer's design and the engine received very positive feedback. The charm of the E-Type lay in its performance, presence, and competitive price - especially compared to significantly more expensive sports cars from Aston Martin and Ferrari. Consequently, the E-Type was also a great commercial success for Jaguar. From the beginning, the model was available as a coupe with the characteristic side-opening rear hatch and as a roadster. From a propulsion perspective, the E-Type had the racing genes of the winning Jaguar D-Type race car. The 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine produced a remarkable 269 hp and drove the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The possible top speed of nearly 240 km/h was a peak value at the time. In 1964, the displacement was increased to 4.2 liters while maintaining essentially the same power. This was complemented by a completely synchronized four-speed manual transmission developed by Jaguar itself. With the introduction of Series II in 1968, the model was further developed, especially with regard to the US market. Externally, it is also recognizable by the open headlights and enlarged turn and reverse lights. The interiors also underwent adaptations with improved ergonomics and a more modern appearance. The proven 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine remained and is distinguished by its quietness and powerful torque. In combination with the completely synchronized four-speed manual transmission, the E-Type offers a sporty driving experience suitable for long journeys. Improvements to the cooling system and brakes have also increased everyday usability and reliability. The E-Type has been continuously developed over time. Until the end of production in 1974, approximately 72,500 units of the E-
