The story
JAGUAR MK2 3.8l 1962 JAGUAR MK2 3.8L 1962 Delivered Garnet Beige interior Fully reliable vehicle Jaguar Heritage Certificate Expertise Invoice file Period booklet Duplicate keys Very nice example of Jaguar MK2 3.8l model year 1962. It has the particularity of being made reliable for daily driving with, among other things: power steering, 5-speed Getrag gearbox, 4-piston front brake calipers, Koni gas shock absorbers, engine oil cooler kit, reinforced stabilizer bar, high-performance starter, high-flow fan, stainless steel exhaust system... Delivered new on January 4, 1962 in California, where it was restored in the 2000s, it then went to Germany and was purchased in 2007 by the current owner. The Garnet color, not original, gives it a special charm, especially in the sun where it reveals all its brilliance. The bodywork is of good quality, rather well preserved. The alignments of the openings are satisfactory according to the expert. He noted no corrosion on the sills, chassis rails, and floors. The interior is well presented. The seats, door panels, and dashboard are in very good condition. The headliner shows no major defects. The instrumentation is functional. On the engine side, the current owner has installed a 4.2l engine block fed by two SU carburetors. The car thus benefits from a more powerful displacement for more flexibility and comfort. The original 3.8L Matching number engine is sold separately from the car and has been completely restored by a specialist. The 4.2l block has been opened for complete refurbishment. The road test during the expertise allowed us to observe its good functioning. It is equipped with a 5-speed Getrag gearbox. The clutch kit was completely replaced in 2009. The rear suspension system has been modified (in replacement of the leaf springs). The braking system is much more efficient than the original one. The car is maintained in a workshop specialized in classic English vehicles. A slightly more powerful displacement than the original (but with the possibility of putting back the original 3.8l of the car) for more flexibility, a gearbox recognized for its efficiency, power steering, and a revised suspension system... Like many owners, this one wanted to make his MK2 a car easy to drive daily without worrying too much about reliability at every outing. 3.8l engine sold separately (Matching number verified by Jaguar certificate) Collection registration Visible by appointment and on lift upon request.
