An evolution of the MK I which was the first monocoque JAGUAR sedan, the MK II manages to elevate an already very successful line, both chic and sporty. The 3.8L version boasts an impressive 220 horsepower for the time. This engine is paired with the famous "Moss" gearbox. Reliable and solid, it remains heavy to maneuver. The same goes for the rigid rear axle, which appears archaic compared to the performance of the mechanics and chassis. However, the whole forms a homogeneous car, much sportier than its large sedan line would suggest. The MK II will indeed be involved in numerous prestigious rallies where it will not just be a background player. Body / Exterior: The model presented here is a JAGUAR Mark II 3.8L Overdrive from December 1963 in its period "Black" color. The body has received a complete new paint job about ten years ago and today shows excellent brightness and a generally correct condition. After a professional polishing performed with orbitals from our workshop, we found some small scratches, paint chips, cracks, or slight defects distributed over the entire body. The right front wing has some old paint defects. The chrome bumpers are perfectly positioned and in good condition despite slight oxidation and some scratches. This specimen is equipped with LUCAS fog lights, both perfectly functional. The left front fog light has a slight crack. The entire set of ornamental chrome is complete, slightly oxidized but in good original condition. The 4 chrome spoke wheels 15'' are in good condition despite slight oxidation. The chrome knock-offs JAGUAR are in good original condition. The tires show 10% wear in front and 30% in the back. This specimen comes with its spare wheel (painted spoke wheel) as well as its hammer and jack. Among the interesting Body / Exterior options and equipment that this specimen is equipped with, we found: the 15'' chrome spoke wheels, the rear fenders, and the LUCAS fog lights. Interior: The interior is in good original condition. The black leather upholstery with matching trim is in good usable condition and shows a uniform patina. The rear picnic tables are in excellent condition. The door panels matching the upholstery were replaced in 2021 and are in new condition. (invoice: 447€) The walnut door tops are in excellent condition, with no cracks or breaks. The dashboard and its walnut covering have been recently restored and are in excellent condition. The entire original SMITHS onboard instrumentation as well as the LUCAS ammeter are perfectly functional. The period radio is no longer functional but has been kept for aesthetic reasons. The original JAGUAR steering wheel and gear knob are in good condition. The gray headlining is perfectly taut and in good original condition. Among the interesting interior equipment that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: the restored woodwork and door panels. Chassis: The lift confirms a healthy body with no apparent structural corrosion traces. The fundamentals: floors, longitudinal beams, lower part.
