The story

For sale: Jaguar MKII 3.4L (1967), 46 years the same owner. History of the Jaguar MKII 3.4L model Introduced in 1959, the Jaguar MKII (Mark 2) quickly established itself as one of the most iconic sports sedans of its time. A direct evolution of the Jaguar MKI, it benefits from significant improvements both aesthetically and technically. Since its launch, the MKII has stood out for its enlarged glass area, which offers better visibility, as well as for its more streamlined and balanced lines, which enhance its typically British elegance. The interior, for its part, reflects all the artistry of Jaguar with a refined presentation that mixes woods, leather, and complete instrumentation. The 3.4L version, positioned between the 2.4L and the 3.8L, is equipped with the famous XK inline six-cylinder engine of 3,442 cm³. This engine develops about 210 horsepower, offering an excellent compromise between performance and ease of use. Paired with a manual transmission with overdrive or an automatic transmission depending on the configurations, it allows the MKII to achieve remarkable performance for a sedan of this category in the 1960s. The Jaguar MKII 3.4L is also distinguished by its advanced road behavior, thanks in particular to the disc brakes on all four wheels, a technology still rare at the time, which gives it a powerful and durable braking system. Very quickly, the MKII became a benchmark, both on the road and in competition. It excelled in numerous touring races and attracted a diverse clientele, ranging from sports car enthusiasts to personalities from the film and business worlds. Produced until 1967, the Jaguar MKII remains today an icon of British motoring, appreciated for its timeless elegance, comfort, and performance. The 3.4L version, in particular, represents an ideal balance, making it a highly sought-after model among collectors. History of this Jaguar MKII 3.4L for sale This Jaguar MKII 3.4L was delivered new in England in February 1967. We follow its history thanks to an important file of invoices starting from May 1978, in the name of Mr. Foreman. It was then based in Neuilly, with an indicated mileage of 52,338 miles. In July 1980, it passed into the hands of its last owner, who has kept it until today. Since then, the car has benefited from rigorous monitoring, evidenced by a large number of invoices, which testify to serious maintenance and regular use. Bodywork The bodywork was restored and repainted in Maroon shade in our workshops in 2006. It is now in excellent condition, with a homogeneous and well-maintained presentation. Only a slight touch-up is to be expected at the level of a rear spats, without impacting the overall quality of the car. Upholstery The beige leather upholstery, most likely original, is in superb condition and shows a remarkable patina, perfectly in tune with the age of the car. The headliner and carpets are also in excellent condition and have probably been redone during its life. Engine and transmission The engine, regularly maintained, runs perfectly and shows good oil pressure. It was adapted to unleaded gasoline in the early 2000s, thus improving its daily usability. The car is equipped with a 5-speed transmission, replacing the original gearbox, which offers better driving comfort and a more comfortable use, especially on long distances. Suspension and brakes This Jaguar is equipped with front and rear disc brakes, with 4-piston calipers, which ensure effective braking for the time. The braking system is currently being overhauled in our workshops. The suspensions are stable and provide good road holding. The car sits on four chrome wheels with 72 spokes, in excellent condition, which contribute to its overall elegance.
