The story

JAGUAR TYPE E COUPE 4.2L 1965 JAGUAR TYPE E COUPE 4.2L 1965 Matching number British Racing Green / beige interior Jaguar Heritage Certificate Restoration and maintenance invoices Magnificent example of Jaguar Type E 4.2l undoubtedly in one of the most beautiful configurations that can exist: British Racing Green with beige leather interior. The car was delivered new on September 27, 1965 by Jaguar Cars in New York. Remaining in the United States for many years, it was then owned by a famous racing Jaguar collector, who imported it to England and entrusted the restoration and engine tuning to a specialist, Peter Lander, from Sigma Engineering in 2014 for about £10,000: - crankshaft regrinding - engine block boring - ring changes - cylinder head resurfacing - machining of the cylinder head and valve guides without lead - connecting rods reconstruction - piston, bearing changes - installation of a new water pump - restoration of the suspension and braking system - installation of a new exhaust with stainless steel line - installation of a complete clutch kit - disassembly and reassembly of the gearbox The aim was to make some adjustments to create a reliable and easily usable car, while trying to keep as many original parts as possible. The restoration is now 11 years old, and its current owner, also British, has it meticulously serviced by a classic vehicle specialist. Recent expenses include: - camshaft regrinding - replacement of the flywheel and clutch kit - replacement of clutch master/slave cylinder - replacement of brake discs - installation of electronic ignition - installation of a high-performance starter The last service was in July 2025. On the bodywork side, the car is in very nice condition. It has been repainted in the past, the original color being black. The inspection and lift allowed us to confirm the absence of corrosion on the floors, cross members, sills, and chassis rails. The chrome is in excellent condition. The wire wheels are shiny. Finally, the upholstery was partially redone by a professional upholsterer in 2022: seats, door panels, console, carpets, and installation of a soundproofing kit. The result is of high quality and the beige leather contrasts beautifully with the exterior green. All instrumentation is functional. A desirable car undoubtedly due to its configuration but also due to its quality of restoration and preservation. An impeccable body, a performing engine, a classy interior. A car that has had the luck to fall into the hands of true lovers of the Type E who have taken care of it meticulously. A proper appraisal was carried out in 2023. The technical inspection is valid until October 2025. Collection registration Visible by appointment.
