The story

Model history: At first glance, the Jaguar Type E leaves the competition 10 years behind! Unveiled in March 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show, it is a true love at first sight as it represents a new technology, a design, and performance never before achieved for a production car. Four independent wheels with spokes and disc brakes, a wooden steering wheel and an all-aluminum dashboard, bucket seats and faired headlights, the 3 chrome SU carburetors in line and the 265 horsepower of the XK engine... This is what this new Jaguar line called TYPE E represents. This car will become the emblem of sportiness and elegance, the biggest stars of the automobile or the 7th art will own it and above all, it will appear on screen in some of the greatest films. Today it is still highly sought after. A competition model hit the track in 1963 at the Sarthe circuit: The Type E Lightweight, hard to want to create a racing car from a sports model that can already reach 240 km/h. History of this Jaguar Type E flat-floor: Sold new in California in July 1961, it changed hands in 1971 and was then stopped in 1985. In May 1997, the 3rd owner, a German, purchased it and fully restored it. In 1998, its registration document was issued in the name of the German owner who kept it for 20 years. Finally, the last owner, a Frenchman, bought it in 2019. Bodywork: Fully restored in the early 2000s in Germany in Signal Red, the bodywork is very healthy, without corrosion and in excellent condition. The door and hood seams are excellent. The Eiffel structure is good as well as the sills. Upholstery: Its beige leather upholstery is magnificent, also fully restored in the early 2000s in Germany. The carpets and the hood are also new. Engine: Its 3.8L engine runs perfectly. Restored in 2000 and regularly maintained, it has excellent oil pressure. Transmission: MOSS transmission, it is in excellent working condition, the gears shift well and are all synchronized. Rolling trains: The rear train is stable, very good road holding. The chassis behavior is perfect. No play or noise detected. The suspension is perfect. Braking behavior: The braking proves to be perfect and straight thanks to its disc brakes, it is equipped with 4-piston calipers in front for better braking. Selling price: €175,000.
