The story
MATCHING NUMBERS Chassis No: 875889 Engine No: R2327-9 Model History: With its arrival, the Jaguar Type E gives the competition a 10-year lead! Unveiled in March 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show, it is a true love at first sight as it represents a new technology, a design, and performance never before achieved for a production car. Four independent wheels with spokes and disc brakes, a wooden steering wheel and an all-aluminum dashboard, bucket seats and faired headlights, the 3 chrome SU carburetors in line and the 265 horsepower of the XK engine... This is what this new Jaguar line called TYPE E represents. This car will become the emblem of sportiness and elegance, the biggest stars of the automobile or the 7th art will own it and above all it will appear on screen in some of the greatest films. Today it is still highly sought after. A competition model hit the track in 1963 at the Sarthe circuit: The Type E Lightweight, hard to want to create a racing car from a sports model that can already reach 240 km/h. History of this Jaguar Type E flatfloor: Sold new on January 5, 1962 by importer David Delecroix in Monaco to madame Simon of the hotel Le Continental. It changed owners in 1983 and went to Switzerland in the hands of Pierre de Sibenthal, a racing driver. In 2006 the last owner purchased it, restored it, and has kept it until today. This Jaguar Type E is one of the 69 cabriolets sold in France! Body: Fully restored in Opalescent Dark Blue, the body is very healthy, without corrosion and in excellent condition. The days of the doors and hoods are excellent. The Eiffel structure is good as well as the sills. Interior: Its beige leather interior has a nice patina. The carpets and the hood are new. Engine: Its 3.8L engine runs perfectly. Regularly maintained, it has excellent oil pressure. The engine is Matching number.
