C-V8 MK III 1966 for sale

This Jensen C-V8 is a model from the last series (Mk III) of 1966. The original color scheme was dark blue with gray leather interior. Today the car is "California Sage" (light metallic green) with black leather interior. This extremely elegant paint was supplied only 15 times out of all 500 C-V8 units produced. Initially, this specimen was destined for export to the United States, but it remained as a company car at Jensen Motors in West Bromwich. Subsequently, Jensen enthusiast Lord Strathcarron took over the car and maintained it until 1983. In 1986, the C-V8 arrived in Belgium via an auction, where it remained until 1993. From there it was sold to Germany. First to an owner (known name) in Kiel and in 1998 to a female owner (known name) near Hamburg. A year later, the current owner purchased the Jensen C-V8 in Hamburg, adding it to his collection of British classics. A few years later he decided to completely restore the Jensen and bring it back to a high-quality technical and aesthetic condition. To this end, the body was separated from the chassis and the components were carefully worked on individually. The plastic body was stripped of the old paint and rebuilt in eight layers in "California Sage", also replacing the body seals and glass. The aluminum doors were disassembled and refurbished (including locks and window mechanisms), the chrome and mounting components were restored or replaced, the underbody was sandblasted and sealed, and all cavities were protected from rust. Some steel floor pieces were replaced and the floor was repainted. The vehicle's chassis was also done. The original engine ("Matching Numbers") was carefully disassembled and refurbished, the cylinders were bored, and high-performance pistons were installed. The lightweight cylinder head was fitted with additional valves and a different camshaft. Thanks to a modified intake manifold and an adapted fuel system, the power was increased to about 365 hp. The transmission and differential, driveshaft, and accessories (alternator, fuel pump, power steering, distributor) and the radiator (with high-performance fans) were refurbished. To protect the accessories, an oil cooler, a transmission oil cooler, a power steering oil cooler, and a fuel cooler were installed, greatly increasing the car's usability. The stainless steel exhaust system was thermally insulated from the flange to the rear, and the tank was resealed. The chassis was also obviously overhauled in all its components. The front and rear axles were completely disassembled and refurbished. Also the wheel bearings, coupling rods, suspensions (sandblasted leaf springs), shock absorbers, and steering. All wear parts were replaced. The braking system was mostly renewed, including pistons, discs, pads, lines, brake booster, brake cylinder, and fluid reservoir. Additionally, the car received new black painted cross-spoke wheels with center closures, which perfectly match the car. During the restoration, the steering was converted from right to left. The interior received extensive refurbishment from an upholstery company. The seats and rear bench were reupholstered in leather, the door panels and instrument console, the high-quality dashboard was re-veneered, and the instruments were refurbished. The carpet in the cabin and trunk was replaced, and the headliner was renewed. Additionally, seat belts were installed and even seat heating for cooler days. The heating was also refurbished. Furthermore, the electrical system was completely overhauled. This includes brand new wiring, refurbishment or partial replacement of the lighting system and interior lighting, as well as all electrical accessories.
