The story

This version of the Lancia Fulvia was born from the commission given by Lancia to Zagato to create a sporting version of the Lancia Fulvia, as had already been done for the Appia, the Flavia and the Flaminia. This model, with its aluminium bodywork and remarkable aerodynamics, was designed by Ercole Spada and built in the workshops of the Milanese coachbuilder at Terrazzano di Rho. The Fulvia Sport had a fastback tail, an extremely modern and streamlined line. A distinctive feature of the Fulvia Sport Zagato was the tailgate, which opened electrically via a button located on the dashboard. A small electric motor positioned beneath the tailgate, at the centre of the boot opening, raised the tailgate by a few centimetres - enough to let air circulate in the cabin: a luxury for the time. The Lancia Fulvia Sport 1600 Zagato was built in only 800 examples from 1971 to 1972.
