But it all started with the first "Djet" with a 4-cylinder Gordini engine that took the start of the 24 H of Le Mans 1962… The Matra Djet V S, the origin of a legendary adventure The Djet VS is the direct heir of the René-Bonnet prototype of the 24 H. of Le Mans 1962, ultra-light and aerodynamic, its bodywork is practically identical. A competitor of the Alpine Renault berlinettes, it offers the advantage of the central-rear engine positioning, in line with the queen architecture of racing cars. The Renault Gordini four-cylinder is a reference, the heart of the sports cars of the time (R8 Gordini, Alpine, and even Formula Renault single-seaters).
