Mercedes 190SL « Rennsport » - Model: Mercedes Benz 190SL Rennsport SLR - Year: 1956 - Transmission: Mechanical 4-speed - Exterior color: Gray - Interior color: Blue/gray - Booklet: French collector's - CforCar presents this Mercedes 190SL, converted to its rarest Rennsport specification! This kit included cut aluminum doors, without window lift mechanism. An aeroscreen was added, and Mercedes recommended removing the bumpers and all the hood mechanism. Despite some good race placements (Macao Grand Prix in 1956, Casablanca in 1958, Hong Kong in 1958), this car will not be up to the competition, and only a few dozen « Cut-doors » options will be sold. Photo links of the restoration are available in the « appraisal report » section - Chassis: This car, coming out of a Nuts and Bolt restoration, is all new, treated for anti-corrosion. About a thousand photos of the restoration are available. - Engine and transmission: Just like the chassis, the engine is currently new and is still being run in. The cylinder head will need to be tightened within 700 km. The exhaust system (side and rear choice) is quite loud, like a race car. The transmission, also completely redone, is synchronized in all gears. - Body: The paint is perfectly tight, without grain or defects. Its original color D180 perfectly enhances this body - Interior: Fitted only between 1955 and 1956, we find on our specimen the seats from the Mercedes Papillon 300SL, with vintage blue tartan. - Price: Euro 135,000
