To replace the old TD and TF, Morris Garage introduced in 1955, a new roadster derived from the EX prototypes that had raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The discreet yet very elegant line is quite innovative for the time. For the rest, as is often the case with English roadsters, the mechanics and chassis rely on proven technical solutions; directly derived from the group's organ bank. The result is surprisingly sporty thanks to the 900 kg of the car and the aluminum elements. The success will be widely at the rendezvous and will make the MG A the best-selling sports car in the United States. Bodywork / Exterior: The model presented here is a MG A 1600 from January 1960, in its period "Signal Red" color. The bodywork was restored a few years ago and the shell received a new complete paint job. This is now in good presentation condition. After a professional polishing carried out with orbitals from our workshop, we found a slight bubble on the hood and trunk, as well as a slight paint defect corrected on the left rear wing. The bumpers and their chrome supports are perfectly positioned and in good condition despite slight oxidation of the front bumper. The chrome of the grille is in excellent condition. The original moldings and decorative ornaments are complete and in good condition. The trunk painting is in perfect condition. This specimen is also equipped with plexiglass side screens in average condition. The black imitation leather hood is in good presentation condition. Its installation remains improvable and its waterproofing complies with the standards of the time. The PVC micas are perfectly translucent, without breaks or cracks or yellowing despite some light scratches. This specimen is equipped with a black imitation leather trunk cover in excellent condition. The 4 chrome spoke wheels 15'' and their Knock Offs are in excellent condition. The 4 FIRESTONE tires show 20% wear in front and 30% in the rear. This specimen is equipped with its original spare wheel (chrome spoke wheel), as well as its jack and hammer. Among the interesting Bodywork / Exterior equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: the plexiglass side screens and the black imitation leather trunk cover and the chrome trunk painting. Interior: The interior has maintained its period configuration and appears in excellent presentation condition. The upholstery in "Black" imitation leather with "Red" piping was restored a few years ago. This is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear or stretching. The matching interior doors in "Black" imitation leather are also in good presentation condition. The dashboard shelf in body color "Signal Red" as well as the center armrest in "Black" imitation leather and "Red" piping are in good condition, without cracks, deformations or discolorations. The dashboard in body color "Signal Red" is in good condition. The JAEGER instrumentation is complete and fully functional except for the backlighting of the instruments. The original 4-spoke bakelite steering wheel branded MG is in good condition. The MG bakelite gear knob is also in good condition. The "Black" carpets are in good presentation condition. Among the interesting equipment in the interior that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: the "MG" 4-spoke steering wheel, the MG bakelite gear knob as well as the center armrest in imitation leather.
