In fact, unlike the latter, the convertible version required fewer structural modifications and was therefore less expensive to produce. Furthermore, the convertible also proves to be more spacious and livable compared to the convertible, particularly regarding the rear seats. Despite an obvious commercial success and the lack of frontal competition at the time (Aronde and others), the career of the 203 convertible will be short: presented a year after the launch of the sedan (1949), it will disappear from the catalog as early as 1954. Body / Exterior: The model presented here is a 203 Convertible from January 1952 in its period "Black" color (authentic version / PEUGEOT Adventure Certificate of Conformity). The body of this specimen was restored a few years ago by a specialist and the shell received a complete new paint job in accordance with the period sample. This is in excellent condition. After a professional polishing carried out with orbitals from our workshop, we noticed the presence of some superficial defects: a slight chip on the front, a small scratch on the top of the right front wing (1cm), as well as a small paint defect on the left front wing and some small paint chips on the left rear wing. The chrome bumpers are perfectly aligned and in good condition. These show some signs of rubbing. We noticed a slight deformation on the front bumper and small dents as well as some scattered scratches. The chrome decorative moldings are complete and in excellent condition, with no signs of dents or oxidation. The license plate light shows slight oxidation. The hood and its "Black" synthetic leather cover are in good condition. Their installation is easy and the hood's seal remains compliant with the standards of the time. The 4 original "Gray" steel rims are in good condition with no signs of impacts or deformations. We noticed the presence of some paint chips as well as slight superficial oxidation. The chrome hubcaps are in excellent condition. The MICHELIN X tires show less than 10% wear both front and rear. This specimen has retained its original spare wheel, jack, and crank. NOTE: the non-functional turn signals have been retained for aesthetic reasons. Among the interesting Body / Exterior equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: the "Black" synthetic leather hood cover. Cabin: The interior was restored by an upholsterer a few years ago and appears in excellent presentation condition. The "Havana" synthetic leather upholstery is in excellent condition, with no signs of wear, discoloration, or stretching. We noticed a small stitching defect on the driver's seat (2cm) and the synthetic leather of the driver's seat return as well as a superficial scratch on the rear seat. The original "Havana" synthetic leather rear armrests show slight tearing (5cm). The door panels matching the upholstery are in good condition and show no stretching or signs of access on board. The "Brown" dashboard is in excellent condition despite the presence of a paint detachment in the passenger side glove compartment. The entire original JAEGER onboard instrumentation is perfectly functional. The original bakelite steering wheel and gear knob show a patina of use and some small cracks.
