The story

The Porsche 356 is a classic sports car, available both as a coupé and a cabriolet, built by Porsche without interruption from 1948 to 1966. It can be regarded as the first "series-production" model made by the Stuttgart marque. In a little under two decades, numerous versions followed one another, with different engine options ranging from 1.1 to 2 litres. The "Carrera" designation appeared for the first time precisely on the most powerful versions of the 356, fitted with twin overhead camshafts. Two vertical air grilles were integrated into the larger engine cover. All the cars of the 356 generation were also available in an open-top version (Cabriolet, Speedster or Roadster). In particular, the sports versions, starting from the 356 A model, were given the additional "Carrera" designation and were driven by the so-called "Fuhrmann engine". The power unit, so named after its designer Ernst Fuhrmann, was distinguished by four overhead camshafts, driven by the sha
