The story
First owner only. Just 2,520 km covered. No. 052 of 600 GT3 RS 4.0 examples built. Front-axle lift system and folding bucket seats. Collector condition. Complete history. It represents the pinnacle of the 997 range and, at the same time, the last manual-transmission GT3 RS in history. As a consistent homage to motorsport, it combines the highest driving dynamics with uncompromising lightweight construction, delivering a purist driving experience matched by hardly any other car. This makes it one of the most sought-after Porsches of all today. With production limited to just 600 examples worldwide, the GT3 RS 4.0 holds a special place within the history of the 911 and marks the end of an era, before Porsche turned to more digital technologies with the following generation. The heart of the GT3 RS 4.0 is the six-cylinder boxer engine derived from racing, with a displacement of 3,996 cm³. The naturally aspirated Mezger engine delivers 500 hp at 8,250 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 460 Nm. Power is transmitted exclusively through a manual six-speed gearbox to the rear axle, providing an unadulterated driving experience characterised by precision, direct feedback and a keen willingness to rev. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is completed in 3.9 seconds, and the top speed is 310 km/h. Compared with the 3.8, the 4.0 received numerous technical refinements. In addition to the increase in displacement, components from the RSR race car are used, including the crankshaft, connecting rods and further internal engine parts. At the same time, special aerodynamic elements such as front canards, an optimised front splitter and the distinctive rear wing provide additional downforce and further enhanced driving stability at high speeds. When it comes to lightweight construction, too, the GT3 RS 4.0 uncompromisingly follows the philosophy of the Porsche Motorsport division. The bonnet and wings are made of carbon, and the front side windows of lightweight plastic. A lithium-ion battery, the omission of unnecessary comfort features and numerous further weight optimisations reduce the vehicle's weight to just 1,360 kilograms. The adjustable suspension with Uniball bearings and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) underline the uncompromising character of the car. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is today regarded as one of the last genuine analogue high-performance sports cars from Zuffenhausen. The combination of a naturally aspirated Mezger engine, a manual gearbox, consistent lightweight construction and a strictly limited number of examples makes it one of the most coveted collector cars in Porsche history, and for many enthusiasts the ultimate expression of the 911. This GT3 RS 4.0 left the Porsche factory in Carrara White with centre-lock wheels painted in body colour. The red accents of the exterior are continued in the interior, creating a harmonious link between the outside and inside. In addition, this example features two particularly desirable options: the folding carbon bucket seats and the front lift. In this configuration, Porsche delivered the vehicle on 29 August 2011 to its first and, to date, only owner. The Switzerland-based collector treated the GT3 RS 4.0 with the utmost care throughout his entire ownership and used it only on selected occasions. Accordingly, the mileage is very low, standing today at just 2,520 km. Despite this exceptionally low mileage, the vehicle's servicing was not neglected. During his many years of ownership, the owner brought the GT3 RS 4.0 to Porsche twice for maintenance. Only in 2026 did the purchase by Mechatronik finally take place. The exceptionally low mileage and the careful handling throughout the entire ownership period are reflected in the car's present collector condition.
