The story
PORSCHE 914-6 KIT GT 1971 PORSCHE 914-6 Kit GT 1971 Serial Number: 9140430149 With only 3333 units produced, the Porsche 914-6 remains a rare car on the market! Moreover, with a genuine period GT kit. (not to be confused with the 914-6 GT, produced in about fifteen units intended for racing). A unique example: - Same owner for 42 years - A genuine GT kit from Porsche: at the time Porsche supplied about 400 GT packs to dealers and customers as accessories. So it is a period pack and not a GT adaptation as seen on some examples. The pack meets all technical characteristics: widened fenders, front and rear bumpers in fiberglass, roof the same color as the bodywork, lightweight engine hood. Porsche even entered a 914/6 kit GT at the 24H of Le Mans in 1970 in the GT class. A resounding success, especially thanks to its rear mid-engine. - A 2.4S engine block has been installed in place of the original 2.0l for performance purposes. It develops no less than 190 hp. Given the weight of the car, its performance is astonishing. Especially since the original 2.0l version already offers thrilling sensations. The first owner wanted to get closer to the 916 prototypes built in 11 units at the time, which were equipped with a 2.4S engine and the GT kit. The bodywork is in very good condition and has apparently never been repainted. The inspection on the lift allowed us to see that the chassis and underbody are sound, as are the floors and sills. It is equipped with original magnesium Fuchs wheels (7 and 8 inches at the rear). The car has been meticulously kept in a garage by its owner, which explains its current condition. A Porsche enthusiast, he has owned several iconic models of the brand. A mechanic by trade, he has maintained and restored it properly since 1982. Note the replacement of the cylinders and pistons in 2023 as well as the driveshaft. Since the engine was opened for restoration, the car has covered 2000 km. All parts come from the great specialist Freisinger. The interior is in perfect condition. Dashboard, carpet, upholstery everything is in original condition. A rare example with the period GT kit and the switch to the 2.4S block which was common at the time to get closer to the factory GT racing versions. A car in perfect original condition. Clean technical inspection 12/2024 Available by appointment.
