The story

Porsche Carrera GT only 9,746 km! - Year 2006 First delivery in Germany Only 9,746 km! The development of the Carrera GT goes back to a Le Mans prototype that Porsche planned to enter in the 2000 season. The chassis of the Carrera GT is largely the same as the 911 GT1, the Le Mans winning car from 1998. For the 2000 season, the car was further developed and was to receive the V10 naturally aspirated engine that was originally designed for the Footwork Arrows Formula 1 team. However, in November 1999, Porsche decided not to participate in Le Mans and the project was put on hold. In 2000, Porsche presented a concept car with the 5.5l V10 at the Paris Motor Show. The design of this car differed only in details from the later production Carrera GT and was received with great interest by the public. After the launch of the Cayenne in 2002 and its very good sales figures, Porsche again had a larger financial scope and thus decided to build the Carrera GT in an exclusive small series. The V10 naturally aspirated engine was enlarged to 5.7l and now delivered 612 hp at 8,000 rpm. The Porsche Carrera GT was also the first production vehicle where the monocoque and the engine carrier were made entirely of CFRP. The car, weighing only 1,380 kg, accelerates from 0-100 in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 334 km/h. Walter Röhrl significantly contributed to the development of the car, conducting the suspension tuning drives, among other things. For a short time, the Carrera GT also held the lap record for production vehicles on the Nordschleife, driven by the editor-in-chief of the automotive magazine "Sport Auto". The power transmission is via a manually shifted 6-speed transmission with a gear knob made of balsa wood, in homage to the legendary Porsche 917. The wheels are secured like in racing with central locks that have different colors: blue on the right, red on the left. It also features a carbon ceramic brake system and a racing clutch. The underbody consists of a complex air guiding system that helps the Carrera GT to exploit the ground effect. This allows it to maintain its line safely even at high speeds. Additionally, it is supported by a rear wing that automatically rises at a speed of 120 km/h to further increase the downforce. Only 1270 vehicles were manufactured by Porsche Leipzig in 175 hours of manual labor each. Our car was ordered in GT Silver Metallic with black leather interior and was first registered by its German first owner. In recent years, it has been part of a high-quality collection of racing vehicles. Numerous service records and condition reports from Porsche are available to us.
