In 1980, the best candidate from Billancourt was also the biggest popular and commercial success of the moment: the R5. On the same line as the already legendary R5 turbo, in 1982 the small RENAULT received a Garett turbo that brought the power of the small 1400 cc cast iron Cléon engine to 110 hp: the R5 Alpine Turbo was born and its target was already well defined: the VOLKSWAGEN Golf GTI 1600. Body / Exterior: The model presented here is a RENAULT 5 ALPINE Turbo from December 1983 in the color "Metallic Silver Gray 620" of the time. The bodywork of this specimen was restored a few years ago. On this occasion, the shell received a complete new paint job. It is in excellent condition, showing a uniform tone and excellent brightness. After a professional polishing done with orbitals, we found two small scratches on the tailgate. The bumpers are perfectly aligned and in good condition. The CIBIE fog lights and high beams are fully functional. The 4 ALPINE type 13'' wheels are in good condition. These are mounted on FALKEN tires with 20% wear both front and rear. This specimen has its original steel spare wheel, its jack, and the crank. Among the interesting body/exterior equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: The body restoration, the original fog lights, and the CIBIE high beams. Interior: The original "Sand" colored corduroy upholstery is in good presentation condition. We found some stretching of the corduroy on the front and rear seats and a stain on the rear seat. The front door panels in matching faux leather and their storage compartments are in perfect condition. The original dashboard is also in excellent condition. The entire original instrumentation is fully functional, including the turbo pressure and water temperature gauges, as well as the VEGLIA clock. The original ISO DELTA leather steering wheel in "Black" shows a patina of use. The original bakelite gear knob is in good condition. The JVC CD radio is fully functional. The "Beige" colored headliner is in good presentation condition, we found a slight rubbing mark in the center. The interior lights are no longer functional. The combination of "Sand" colored carpet and "Black" mats are in good condition. Among the interesting internal equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: The original ISO DELTA leather 3-spoke sports steering wheel and the JVC CD radio. Chassis: The lift confirms a healthy shell with no visible signs of structural corrosion. The fundamentals: floors, longitudinal beams, sills, and wheel arches are in good condition. Usage reserve: as a principle, we cannot guarantee the perfection of the alignments beyond their good visual and functional state validated during the road test and the lift. During the dynamic test, we did not find any abnormal parasitic noise at the level of the shell or the rolling trains (tie rods, silent blocks...). The braking is balanced, stable, and biting, without vibrations or abnormal noises. The brake discs show 10% wear in front and 40% in the rear. The brake pads show 40% wear in front and 30% in the rear. The technical control carried out by our laboratory before delivery will confirm the proper functioning of the whole. Engine / Transmission: The mechanics work perfectly. The
