In fact, the excellent sensation/price ratio offered at the time, combined with the legendary robustness of the original MASSEY FERGUSON 4-cylinder, anchored the "TR attitude" and allowed TRIUMPH to sell nearly 60,000 units of its TR3 A, a slight evolution of the TR3 (external door handles, enlarged grille, and less protruding headlights). Despite a rudimentary comfort and a rather heavy steering at a standstill, the TR3 A remains today a best-seller and a safe value among collectible English roadsters. Its solidity and the abundance of spare parts allow for regular use without worries, a non-negligible criterion for cars today with more than half a century. Body / Exterior: The model presented here is a TRIUMPH TR3 A from January 1958 in its period "Signal Red" color. This specimen underwent a partial restoration of the underbody in 2025 (photo dossier available / Total: €2,520) On this occasion, the floors and sills were replaced, the front fenders and doors disassembled for complete sanding, primer application, and painting in the period "Signal Red" color. The paintwork is in excellent presentation condition, showing a uniform shade and consistent gloss. After a professional polishing performed with orbitals from our workshop, we found a small paint defect on the top of the right rear fender and a corrected paint chip on the trunk. The chrome bumpers and their supports are perfectly aligned and in good condition despite some small signs of rubbing. The aluminum Robri-type rear fenders are in good condition. The grille, optics, and lights are also in good condition. The black vinyl hood is in good condition and shows no signs of fading, wear, or stretching. Its fit remains compliant with the standards of the time. The PVC micas appear slightly cloudy, with no breaks or cracks. This specimen is also equipped with a black vinyl trunk cover in good condition. Its installation remains improvable. This specimen is equipped with a desirable and sought-after option on roadsters without side windows: the plexiglass side screens. We noticed a small crack on the plexiglass of the driver's side screen. The 4 "Gray" 15'' wire wheels and their 4 chrome knock-offs are in good condition. The 4 FEDERAL tires show 50% wear. This specimen has its original spare wheel and its internal cover. Among the interesting Body / Exterior equipment and options that this specimen is equipped with, we noted: new floors and trunk cover Interior: The black vinyl upholstery with "White" piping was restored a few years ago. This is in good condition despite a slight patina and a tear on the passenger seat. The black vinyl door panels with "White" piping are in good condition. The dashboard and visor in black vinyl are also in excellent condition. The JAEGER onboard instrumentation and LUCAS ammeter are in good condition.
