The story

Volkswagen Kever 1300 Automaat – 1968 – Koningsrood L30A On September 6, 1968, this beautiful Volkswagen Kever left the factory in Wolfsburg. Just a few days later, on September 12, 1968, it was registered for the first time in Germany, presumably as a demonstrator car at the VW dealership Fa. Alfons v. Deschwanden in Offenburg, located in the picturesque Black Forest near the French border. In February 1969, the car passed into the hands of Mrs. Fritsch, who carefully drove it until 1976. After that, there were only a few owners, all from the same region around Offenburg. Notable detail: from 1968 to 1987, this Kever maintained the same original license plate for all those years: OG-KC-90. A wonderful piece of history that perfectly matches the authenticity of this car. After a period of absence, the Kever resurfaced in 2010 in the Sauerland region. Even there, it remained once again in an environment that seems to have come straight out of an old postcard. The story of this car exudes tranquility, care, and passion. This is a particularly beautiful and rare version: a Volkswagen Kever 1300 Automaat made in the unique color Koningsrood L30A. A few years ago, the car was completely restored while maintaining its original character. This version is currently very difficult to find. It is indeed the first European model year with vertical headlights, combined with the rare automatic transmission. Furthermore, this Kever still has the early details that enthusiasts appreciate so much: The original 1300 cc engine with 44 hp runs splendidly and the automatic transmission engages smoothly and comfortably. The car drives relaxed and surprisingly modern for its age. The doors and hoods close well as they should. Fun original accessories complete the package, including: From all indications, this Kever has always been treated with care. Many automatic Kever cars have disappeared in the past into the hands of tuners due to their independent rear suspension, ideal for being lowered. For this reason, an original and intact automatic is particularly special today. In short: an extremely fascinating, rare, and original Volkswagen Kever Automaat.
